Abortions are now illegal An abortion is the removal or expulsion of an embryo or fetus from the uterus, resulting in or caused by its death. The Supreme Court has handed down what is being called one of the biggest setbacks for the abortion rights movement in years. On Wednesday, the court voted five to four to uphold a ban on late-term abortion. The so-called Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act was signed into law in 2003 but had been held up by rulings from lower courts. The Supreme Court ruling marks the first time justices have agreed that a specific abortion procedure can be banned. It's also first time since Roe v. Wade that justices approved an abortion restriction that does not contain an exception for the health of the woman. In her dissenting opinion, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, called the decision "alarming" and "irrational." She said: "[The ruling] tolerates, indeed applauds, federal intervention to ban nationwide a procedure found necessary and proper in certain cases by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists." She later continues: "[It] cannot be understood as anything other than an effort to chip away at a right declared again and again by this Court - and with increasing comprehension of its centrality to women's lives." I think that if you choose to open your legs to have sex, you can open them to push your child out. If you were raped and got pregnant, it wouldn't be as bad. Would do you think?

if it was an accident or rape then yes, if you plan or have the money to support a child then you should keep it.
but bringing a child into a world where it will have a poor quality of life is wrong in my opinion.
TBH i agree with abortion in most cases. It's just those people who go around sleeping with people when they don't want children in the first place, then abort.
did i just make any sense? Well you can still abort in the UK, and i agree with it, so yeah.

I think that this is turning into a good discussion...
Im torn between this one because I think that you should have the choice to do whatever you wish with your body as a woman. I don't think that someone else (especially a man) should have that right to tell you that you can or cannot do something with your body. I feel this way because when they start passing laws and things like this, it makes it easier for them to add or pass other laws similar in regards to a womans health & quality of life. I don't agree with that. However, I do think that if you get pregnant, you have other options besides abortion. Either grow up and live with it. Take responsibility and take care of your consequences or give that child up for adoption.
Now what they are talking about here is LATE TERM abortions, where people go on for months (6-7-8 months, some even 9) to get an abortion. That is just down right wrong and to me makes no sense. Why would you wait that long and realize, "I don't want to be pregnant anymore and I don't want to take care of this child that I've carried for almost a year already..." I think that is the most retarted thing I've ever heard of.
But Im conflicted, because I think that this should be a decision that you should be able to make on your own... not someone else.

Oh wow! Abortion illegal. IDK if it's illegal here. I totally agree abrtion should be illegal if it was done without one being forced into it. But if it a case of rape, then abortion should only be allowed for that.

I am in total agreement with Justic Ruth Bader GinsBurg. I believe that an abortion is a woman's choice, their own personal choice. I don't believe it's in anyone's place to say what a woman can and cannot do with her body. It's her body and if she chooses to have an abortion, that is her choice, her personal matter. I don't think it's anyone's place to judge a woman who is or has had an abortion. I don't agree with you saying is a woman can open up her legs and have sex she can open up a push a child out. Yes woman are capable of doing it, but it is their choice, not anyone else. I'm sorry but it sounded completely harsh and negative to me. I think having an abortion is better than having a baby and putting it in the trash can, or killing it, or abusing it, doing anything to harm it and intentionally killing it. When you think of it that way, an abortion is the first most logical thing that comes to mind in my opinion. Yes this is my opinion. I am not stating a fact. Woman have different reasons for why they choose to abort, but that's their business, their choice, and they should not be judged based on a choice they choose to make.
