CBS is teaming up with members of the Jackson family to launch the new reality show, "Pop Dynasty," an American Idol-style competition designed to form a new super group.
Jermaine Jackson has been named a principal on the project and will also serve as a judge alongside LaToya and Tito.
Jamie Foxx, Marcus King and Greg Shelton, as well as Triage Entertainment's Stu Schreiberg have also been listed as collaborators according to Variety. Schreiberg has extensive experience producing live and music-based specials including both Foxx's NBC music special "Unpredictable" and Comedy Central special "Laffapalooza."
Although scores of performance based competitions have sprung up after the success of "American Idol," CBS is hoping to capitalize off of the presence of three members of the iconic Jackson clan and LaToya's renewed popularity from her recent stint on "Armed and Famous."
As for now, neither Michael nor Janet Jackson are involved with "Pop Dynasty."
