From People.comFergie Taking Her 'Own Journey' Away from Addiction
Fergie has addressed her battle with crystal meth addiction but she wants to make one thing clear about her recovery.
"I'm not claiming to be sober," the singer tells Glamour in its December issue. "I think that that would be misleading. I drink alcohol. My father has a vineyard, and [the wine is] really delicious, by the way."
"Anyway, for most addicts, they would advise never to have any sort of substance," she says. "I just have my own journey, and I am very blessed to this day to be alive."
As part of that journey, Fergie shares her advice for young women on how to stay positive and make their dreams come true.
"There were periods of my life when a lot of people didn't believe in me," she tells Katie Couric, who interviewed her. "I still had faith in myself. I really had to ask myself life questions. Where do I see myself in five years? Create a ladder for yourself, and walk up the steps. Climb that ladder."
As for her relationship with hubby Josh Duhamel, the musician says weathering an infidelity scandal together solidified their bond.
"Our relationship was stronger than that," she says. "We live in a voyeuristic world, and it's part of our business. But I like to [focus on] all the perks that I get in this business."

I love Fergie. I think Fergie is down to earth, never superficial or fake like Taylor Swift. & anytime I have ever seen Fergie on talk shows or interviews in magazines, she has always kept things 100% real. When you famous & in the spotlight, never forget where you came from. That’s exactly how I see Fergie she has never forgotten where she has came from, I can tell she is super grateful for the fame and fortune she has. Fame and fortune which she has more than deserved, she stayed self motivated like she was saying, along with…working hard as all outdoors. She has worked hard alone and with people on her side. Now that’s beautiful. I also love how Fergie shares so much with the urban minoritized communities and doesn’t have to have cameras around to document and share with the whole world. I have friend in L.A. and in all part of New York who live in lower income neighborhoods and I have heard stories upon stories of Fergie coming out with her fellow band mates of the Black Eyed Peas, & throwing parties, having cook-outs, and so forth. She is real, down to earth, down with who and whatever. Fergie and her hubby make a wonderful couple, I hope they can stay together and have a nice happy home for the rest of their lives.
GO Fergie!!! My London, London…bridge wanna come down.
