Monday, October 4, 2010 So you find $300 crumbled up on the ground and no one is around to claim it, what is the first thing you would do with it? (Would you make a purchase? Would you report it to the police dept.? etc.)

Since $300 isn't really a lot money. I would probably ask around if anyone lost any money...and it no one claimed it...I would keep it.
After all, the police let it sit in a case room for a wekk or two and no one claims it, the finder gets to keep it.
I would probably just go shopping and get some gas, can't really stretch out $300...but yeah if I wasn't super pressed for money it would be clothes or a bill.

I would pick it up, and then probably ask my parents and/or friends what I should do with it. I would probably lean towards keeping it, but I might bring it to the police just because if someone lost 300 dollars they're bound to be pretty upset about it, I know I would be so if they were looking for it I wouldn't want to just take their money and not give them a chance to get it back.

This def. depends on where im at with all honesty...If im just walking along the street I would prob pick it up or keep it...if im inside a store...I would give it to a manager because most likely the person is going to back track there way back to the store anyway.
Quick Story 1: Once at work I found $50..I gave it to my manager and told her I found it on the floor. The place I worked at was a skating rink so when ppl lost things they would say over the mic what was lost and if they person could describe it...then we would give it to them. In this case the person would of had to tell how much money it was and what bills made up the amount (i.e. 2 $10, 1$20,2 $5) and they would be given the money...My boss took the money and said, "Thanks, ill just put it in the register." and she never made the annoucement...I wanted to punch her...lol..if she wasnt going to make an announcement at the end of the day if no 1 asked for it..I think she should have let me have the money...but oh well..I was just trying to do the right thing...

Your manager is the one who will have to sleep at night knowing she "pocketed" someone elses money. smh
