From JSYK.comHoping to raise awareness about breast cancer the same way, a group of California students began wearing bracelets that say "I Love Boobies" - similar to Lance Armstrong's Livestrong bracelets that benefit cancer research.
Even though these accessories promote an important cause, school officials in the Clovis Unified district say no-way to wearing them during class time. The reason? Their dress code contains a clause that states "any jewelry that contains any sexually suggestive language or picture" is not allowed.
The American Cancer Society supports the students.
Charaign Sesock, a spokeswoman for the organization, explains, "This campaign is targeting teen years and college ages so that they can empower themselves to be advocates for their own bodies. If you can start raising awareness early on, it will only benefit them as they grow older."
Another California school district initially shared Clovis' same sentiment, until they realized the benefits of wearing this bracelet. Fresno Unified district officials took the bracelets away from 30 students, but later returned them and allowed students to have them on during school hours.
Some of students are buying the "I Love Boobies" bracelets at Kirk Psenner's store. He doesn't make any profit from their sale and says the bracelets already raised thousands of dollars for the American Cancer Society.
"Even if they are taking it as a joke, it's starting a conversation. To pretend or push away an issue doesn't make it go away," Kirk says.

Ok so I've got a little story to tell. At this point and time, we're not unaware of how ANCIENT I am... so we'll move along.
When I was in HS, Sophomore year if I'm not mistaken, 9/11 happened. The days and weeks after, students would wear the American flag on their clothing or apart of their clothing. Now let's be clear on something, I lived in New York City! The melting pot of all melting pots in The States. There are plenty of people from ALL OVER THE WORLD and wouldn't necessarily IDENTIFY with this new found patriotism shown from my fellow classmates during this time of recovery & mourning. So when students wore clothing with the flag on it, or the flag apart of their clothing, people of other nationalities wore THEIR flags as well as the American flag!! They were simply showing their solidarity as we have ours. But when that started to happen, it caused a bit of an internal problem. As a result, the school banned the flag COMPLETELY from our dress code, it was inappropriate imagery on the clothing that (for whatever reason) promoted a raucous and hostile environment amongst the students. And this is high school! You would think that students were a bit more mature than that to start fights over place of origin. But it had. And it was bad.
Now these school districts banning these bracelets, to me, is no different. The fact that that language on them, is completely inappropriate for that type of setting. If you want to buy them to help fight this and participate in the cause, then fine do it. But wearing it, doesn't do anything for the cause- nor does wearing it to school. As a matter of fact, its the complete opposite. As we've seen from the immaturity back in my day, some 10,000 years ago, nothing has changed. Kids will be immature little kids. Obviously, this was removed from the dress code for a really good reason. Not simply because it says "boobies" (even though, I would have to agree that the language is a bit risque and suggests another message, satirical as it may be).

Ok, lets be real here.
9 TIMES OUT OF 10
Most students would wear these bracelets not in support of breast cancer..but just because of what it says. Yes, we would all like to believe that students or even people in general could be more mature about this type of situation and just support the cause.
My problem with these bracelets..is that the person who created them in a sense is using "sex sales" as a way to make profit. I understand its for a good cause. Nd thats where my problem comes in. If its for a good cause MAJORITY of the time ppl will buy anyways. So, why couldnt the seller just go for the standard "Fight Breast Cancer" or whatever slogan..
Nd to comment on the last statement about the bracelets raising awarenesss...YEA RIGHT...Kids arnt going to be saying, "Hey, look at my bracelet its in support of breast cancer," They'll more likely be saying, "Hey, look at my bracelet...it says Boobies."...SMH

Yep. That was my point by telling my story about 9/11 American T-Shirts. The kids at school didn't comprehend that by getting angry that someone would want to show pride of their country of origin as well as the US was more than likely harmless. But instead the dumb kids took it as them being "non patriotic" (which was dumb because no one cared about being patriotic BEFORE 9/11 anyway)! Just immature.
