Still searching for that one perfect pair of jeans that will become a major player in your fall wardrobe? Look no further. Gap's newly re-designed premium denim range hits stores today, and designer Patrick Robinson gave us the rundown on exactly which pair you need.
For the past year and a half, Robinson (above--could he be any cuter?) and his staff have been scouring the globe for the best denim out there, doing endless tests to ensure a brilliant fit, and figuring out how to make 'em affordable for average gals. The result is Gap's new premium denim range, and with every single style coming in at under $70, I have a feeling you're going to love them.

"This line really happened because I wanted to listen to where the world was, and reflect that," Robinson told me when I met him at Gap's midtown flagship this morning. "The world changed to make denim more of a luxury item--people started wearing jeans so many more places, because they were spending more money on them. Suddenly they wore jeans on dates, to fancy restaurants, everywhere. And we just took that idea and brought it back to a more accessible place, where we have jeans for every range of occasions. Fancy, casual, the boyfriend, whatever."
The boyfriend jean: a do or a don't? You decide.
I asked Robinson what the one pair of jeans every woman should own this fall is. "The 'always skinny'," he said. That's the name of the fit, and they come in a wide range of styles, from white destructed a la Balmain to cute and cropped to a riding-inspired version that comes in charcoal and olive green. Not a skinny jeans kind of girl? Don't fret. "Gap is an American brand made for real American women," Patrick said. "We've got the perfect boot, the curvy, there's literally a jean that will work for every single woman. And they are honestly the best fitting jeans you can find." I tried on a pair and I have to say, my butt has never looked quite so lifted. I took home the "always skinny," as Patrick recommended, in destructed white, and I'm already predicting they'll be in heavy rotation in my fall wardrobe.
