i didn't know which i should put this in but here it is. move if you wish.
*Near to the door* *he paused to stand* *as he took his class ring* *off her hand* *all who were watching* *did not speak* *as a silent tear* *ran down his cheek* *and through his mind* *the memories ran* *of the moments they walked* *and ran in the sand hand and hand* *but now her eyes were so terrible cold* *for he would never again* *have her to hold* *they watched in silence* *as he bent near* *and whispered the words..* *"I LOVE YOU" in her ear* *he touched her face and started to cry* *as he put on his ring and wanted to die* *and just then the wind began to blow* *as they lowered her casket* *into the snow....* *this is what happens* *to man alive.....* *when friends let friends....* *drink and drive.*

WOW! Thats compelling. Well illustrated too. I could picture it while I was reading it. Nice. A good topic to talk about as well. How many of us can say that they've known someone who was injured/killed by drunk driving/drunk driver?
When they say don't drink and drive... its a serious warning. Because even if you feel you aren't as buzzed not to drive, you may still be that impaired and something in a split second can happen to you. Everyone tolerance of liquor is different, so thinking "Oh I just had a shot, I'm good." Legally, your 'fine', but when you think about how much your body can take in conjunction to what concoction of a cocktail you've had... you may be well on your way to 'tipsy-ville' and be liable to cause an accident.
I hope none of you have had a drink and gone to drive. Its very irresponsible.

i've known people who have died through drinking and driving and a few of my friends and family have aswell. it's bloody horrible. i'm not trying to be nasty but you seriously have to be stupid if you do drink and drive. my ex's dad used to drink and drive before my ex got his lisence and became sober d for his dad.
i think these days kids [yes i just called myself a kid] my age think they are ten feet tall and bullet proof. they think "oh that'll never happen to me" and then you know what happens.
it's horrible to go and see people go through the pain and the anger of it all. they don't understand how much pain it puts people through. and usually it's other people that die and get hurt, not the driver. but then again the driver will have to live what he's done.
the boy who killed the guy i know, he has to live with killing his best mate. i can't understand how much pain he's going to live with for the rest of his life. how many friends he's lost and well just the weight on his shoulders from killing his best mate. i some how feel sorry for him but he kinda brought it on himself.

A lot of kids in my area have gotten killed in car accidents, never mind drunk driving. But the drunk driving one I remember the most Was this girl named Ashley, she lived in the town next to mine, and went to the union high school. I had friends who knew her. She was at a party with some friends, and they decided to go home. The 18 year old boy, was drunk. I don't know if her or the other girl were. I guess one of the girls started driving, but halfway home they switched drivers and the boy started driving. A few minutes later they crashed (I think they hit a tree or a telephone pole, but I'm not sure) and Ashley died. The other two lived.
In Vermont, wherever there was a drinking and drivng death there's a sign that has a picture of a car, and a beer bottle with a circle and a line through it. It says "Think" They're really haunting signs. I pass one every time I go to Rutland. Around this corner in Clarendon Springs. It's not even a bad corner. But I guess a few years ago, some drunk teenagers went off there. Two of them died (I think) There's two crosses there now with that sign.
It's sad, because in the past like 2 months two teenagers have died in Car accidents, neither of them involved alcohal (My boyfriend and his brother went to school with one of them).
Kids get killed in car accidents without drinking, we don't need to add alcohal.

Thats a Sad Poem =( but it speaks the truth. You dont want to be in the position where you're the one that makes the mistake of drinking and driving.
