It's hard for teens in my town anyways. It's so small here so the only workplace we have for teens is fast food. I'm not sure perhaps Wal Mart, I mean they may not pay much but I hear they get good benefits & that is def. something you won't find in fast food.

i dont know if they have these where you live: but Truette's (a fastish food resturant) and Chick-fil-la (another fastish food resturant by the same people), are good for hiring because its clean... the commericals are really funtastical... and the manger-dude sometimes gives out scholarships too... ~bonus~...

They're also good because they have a lower hiring age as well (chick-fil-a) You have to be at least 14 to be hired. And Chick-fil-a is a fast food joint, if anyone is interested. They do give out scholarships but I don't think that it pertains to regular P/T hires under a certain age. I think that those scholarships go to people who apply to them. McDonald's has a scholarship program as well. But overall, Every restaurant isn't the same. Every restaurant is owned and operated by different people. So therefore, although they are all operating under the company policy, not everyone will enforce (even though Im sure its mandated that they do) for employees to wash their hands after using the bathroom (for example). So just because the restaurant by you is clean, doesn't mean they all are.

Yeah. Every state is different. Like for instance there isn't a Chick-fil-a in NY where I used to live at all! Not even in the city. But when I came to NC, theres a whole bunch of them. It truly depends on where you are at.
