Welcome to Manhattan Beach, California, where the sun is hot and the people are hotter. whether it's surfing or shopping you'll find the best of the best, and the hottest of the hot, living their lives in luxury. So if you came from a town like New York, Miami, or Chicago, and you thought you were living the life there, you have never truly stepped foot onto the prospects of Manhattan Beach.

Manhattan Beach is the place the girls who fit into that stunning dress you couldn't squeeze into and the guys who enjoy the presence of your girlfriends every once in a while call their home. It's the place you wish you were but know you could never possibly fit in. Or can you? They say everybody has a soul mate, and your soul mate could be wandering down the streets of Ocean Avenue, or you could at least bump into a bunch of people who have the same ideas as you. You never know unless you try.

Other than who looks best in their bikini or a pair of swim trunks the thing most important to the people living here is one thing, and one thing only. The word by Webster means regarded with favor, approval, or affection by people in general, but here on Ocean Avenue, popularity could easily be summed up into one word. That word is, life. The lengths that the youth of those in California is unreal. Whether you have to completely turn your back on your "best friend" or her boy friend is that one prime guy that will get you to the top, you do what you have to do.

People from Manhattan Beach will do anything to get to the top, unless, of course, you're one of those lucky few who have already reached the top. In that case you better sit back and enjoy the ride, because it won't be long before you'll be at the bottom of the Ocean Avenue food chain once more. Getting to the top is hard but actually staying there is another story. Chances are once your fifteen minutes of fame being one of Ocean Avenue's elite is up you'll go back to being yet another one of those hopeless sob stories, desperately trying to climb up the social ladder but failing miserably.

Manhattan Beach may seem like the perfect place to live, with the beautiful scenery, beaches and well-off families but believe me. Underneath the harmless exterior Manhattan Beach is about as harmless as a hungry lion; scary, life-threatening and ready to eat you alive.
