Yeah... so Ashanti is back with a new single... niiiiiiiiice.  Ashanti fans rejoice. Her new album "Declaration" is due out this March. She had better get a move on the new single March will be here very soon. I've yet to hear the song on the radio. So who knows. I'm with you on that one Toya I have yet to hear a single or any song. But I looked up that song the way I love you, and wooo...I'm going to have to say that I didn't  like it to much, but I guess its good that she's trying to make a comeback, but I hope she steps up and makes some music I like, and will listen to, cause that song, sorry but I can't do it. |

I added the link to the song in the OP. You had to click on the Real Talk NY link. Isn't it horrible? I can imagine what the Ashanti official message board looks like... LOL. They know that song is horrible, but they will still insist and bring up the 'fact' that Ashanti is better than Beyonce and that she sings better than every R&B singer out now. I tell you, little kids these days have no clue about REAL music. But they're entitled to it.

I have to agree so people are hooked on the studio verions of music. Not live versions with symphony. I have always enjoyed live music better just because of the quality and it also exposes if you have real talent, no talent, some or very little.
When you hear a studio version of the song, sometimes it's not just them singing that have posers etc, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I think if more people appreciated music a little more their perspective would be alot different. But yeah the song isn't good at all. Yeah I did click on the link after I replied, lol...that's when I realized it was a link, lol...

I just realized you have another skin. I have to fix some of the skins so that the links stand out.
But anyway... I think that now a days, they are handing out recording contracts to people who do not deserve it. Like for instance, Cassie. She cannot sing. Theres one song of hers that I like. But even still... SHE CANNOT SING. I think the reason why she was signed was because she's really pretty (which sells) & she can dance. Add those two elements together and you have yourself a hit! Nowadays, people do not care about quality... its about the perception of quality. "if we can get a girl who is just as cute as xyz if not better looking and she can marginally sing and dance phenominally, we can market this." And the kids love it. Ciara, Cassie, Ashanti (even though I've heard her singing exceptionally good), Tyra B, Pretty Ricky (some will have their disagreement but lets face it Pleasure's vocals were the only thing that held that group together) amongst others. Its all about the appearance.

Yeah I noticed that, i'm using the Jojo skin as of right now and it still says I have Miss purple Rihanna but it's okay, because I love purple, lol.
Yeah they give out record deals like it's free candy right now. I don't think it's out of desperate record labels, or for quick fast money. I don't know why they give out record deals to people who don't have the best talents. One thing I know for sure is that looks play a huge part. They always want someone who looks good. I agree Cassie can't sing, but look how she looks, she's light, skinny, pretty, long hair whether its all real or not, she has that look. I think she can dance as well, but I have seen people who sing better and dance better than her. No offense, do what you do, but I know that there are many people out there, who have much more talent. I agree people don't care about quality now a days, studios make people sound alot better, than they actually do.

Just like I was reading this autobiography for school on this girl Charlene Tapparetty I think that's how you spell it, lol. But anyways she was like 15 and these guys hit her up like you know we will give you a record deal do this this and that. Took her over seas and made her lots of money she came back to the US just to get sued she was left with nothing, she ended up killing herself, but the book just goes to show how shady people in the music business can be and the things they can help you get caught up in.

I have to disagree with you guys about not liking the song because its really not a bad song to me..It jus has the wrong person singing it. Ashanti cant and ((still)) can't sing lol. I actually feel like Mary J or even Fantasia would have done this song wonders and would have killed it..especially in a live performance. [[Cassie couldn't never sing and as much as she wants to blame it on nerves...nerves dont make u sould tnat bad SORRY!]].
