{ Source} Michael Lohan's spelling mishap makes us wonder if he even deserves his kids back.
“Lyndsay, Michael, Ali and Cody need stability and both of their parents in their lives. I am anxious to spend time with them and end this cruel, needless separation,” announced Michael Lohan in a recent press release found on TMZ.com. Yea, we know. It’s L-I-N-D-S-A-Y. But La Lohan’s father can’t seem to spell his own daughter’s name, even though he must see it in the news as often as we do! Sure, he’ll probably try to blame his publicist for the blunder. But honestly? His little faux-pas is not going to help his case. His kids may need stability, but Daddy Lohan needs to learn how to spell.
In the real world you can really do one or two things: Correct Them (Which should be your first thought) or to just let it go (If you know that you have a difficult pronounciation with your name). There's no need to drag a simple issue, as someone misspelling or mispronouncing your name, into a scratch and screaming match.

Yeah. I mean its just common sense, so commom its almost like a reflex! But I know of people who would sincerely curse someone out and get mad if they mispronounced their name!!! Its sad but there are people out there who would do it. Me personally, In my experience with having a somewhat difficult to pronounce first name, I've grown to let it slid UNLESS that person asked "Is that how you say it?" or "Is that right?" OR if they completely call me by something that doesn't even sound like my name, then I'd correct them. But for the most part people get my name close to correct or correct. If they don't get it right I just tell them "I usually don't do this but you can call me Toya!" ;D

Especially when it has to deal with something legal, because if your name is spelled wrong, then its considered not being you!! Like for instance they spelled my name wrong on my high school diploma, I had to give it back and have them do it over again because it was not me! LOL

A slight technicality like that can make a BIG difference.

I'd probably correct it. But most people ask how to spell it. Although once I was getting a late slip at school, and the teacher spelled my last name wrong even though it was right in front of her on my hat Then I guessed she noticed because she scrapped that piece of paper then asked me..

I hate when people do that but at the same time you feel like "well how would they have known?" so you can't fault people who are like that... but the point is to always ask first anyway
