I'm a plus size girl always have been nothing I can do about it. Part of the reason is genetics face it to be skinny and to keep being skinny you have to have two parents who are skinny and have both their be skinny too. And the other is enviroment food is a major part of people's lives, we see commericals for it, ads in newspapers, we even have a network for it the food channel. If don't learn to control it and not let it control us, we lose.
Part of it also is there is an on going pressure for the prefect body girls gotta be super skinny and guys gotta look like Brad Pitt. Its awful the kind of pressure the media and oursevles put on us to be prefect. You have to be happy with what you have, otherwise your gonna drive yourself insane. You can be super skinny and still be worse off than the person who isn't.
I do work out but its not because I wanna be skinny or look like Kate Moss no because I wanna be healthy. But I can't help it if I'm a size 12 while the rest of the planet is telling me that if I don't loose weight I'm gonna die. I'm going to be old and grey before that happens

LOL...I think stimulating conversation is good, keeps your mind sharp! LOL...I quote that, but it is very interesting to see everyone's points of views on particular situations, and how they handle them and all, but sometimes it give you ideas, makes you think, etc. Its amazing how we can all agree, and disagree, but in such a good controlled way. You know with no hard feelings or anything. Ilike the fact that we all respect everyone's opions whether you agree or disagree. Yeah its really cool. Its not insane like some message forums where they get into down right fights and name calling. Theres no place for that here. And when you do that you never learn. I'm a plus size girl always have been nothing I can do about it. But I can't help it if I'm a size 12 while the rest of the planet is telling me that if I don't loose weight I'm gonna die. I'm going to be old and grey before that happensYep! Lol @ the grey and old statement. But what do you think about people who INTENTIONALLY go that route because now society is saying "Be Fat & Be Fabulous!"?... Im not opposing this. But to intentionally gain alot of weight, like J said, thats not meant for your body is outrageous to me! And then to actually see that your own health is declining... thats really ridiculous to insist that "Yeah my blood pressure is a bit high but it doesn't mean Im going to get it"... THATS CLUELESS! You have to be in serious denial at this point. But then you have to deal with the people who are big and unhealthy & not looking at the negatives but focusing on the positives; the physical aspect of being larger. That physical can change, but what about your overall health? Can that change? Like Kelli said, you can be realy thin and still not be completely healthy. So where is the line drawn, I guess? Where is that point where health is apparent for people to acknowledge it? However, Kelli you said that genetics plays a part in how your body is going to be and that to be thin both of your parents have to be thin... thats not true, neither parents have to be thin or big for that matter. However, genetics is a major reason for weight and size on individuals. Some people take after grandparents and great uncles & aunts (can you believe that?) My niece I think took after someone on her fathers side of the family because her father and my sister (her mother) are (were) both thin and she's a thick girl. She's always been a little bit big for her age. Neither of her parents were bigger people. My sister has gained weight recently after relocating but thats about it. My mother side of the family have all been pretty much thin people, including my grandmother.

Toya, your right and your wrong let me explain, Yes genetics plays a major part in how we look, what color eyes we have and ever our weight but coming from a long line of Big woman and doing a good deal of research on the subject I tell you when genetics is involved in weight issues that means that the whole or most of either the mother or fathers or even both side of the family are big not just one person thats not genetics thats just fat.

Lol. I know thats what I was trying to say. Thats why I added that example of my niece. Kelli said that your parents would have to be over weight for you to be and I made an example of that not being true because my niece is a product of two thin people (or at least they were thin once upon a time). And she's always been more solid, taller and stockier than the other kids her age. Its just always been that way. My nephew, her brother, is thin, but she's a bit bigger. She's not "fat" or anything, she has a larger bust than anyone is the family and she's stocky. No one in my family is like that. Hence why I said that she had to have gotten it from other members of her fathers side of the family.

I'll say this, genetics can play a huge, roll, but not all the time. Genetics number one skip generations... ex...two thin people have to child one is thin, one is bigger...genetics work in mysterious ways. Even doctors will tell you, that they can't pin point extact genetics. They might know that it has played a role in it, but they can't decipher what gene is what gene and say why, how or whatever... There are alot of factors as you see throughout this conversation, so you cannot just blame it on fast food.

Right. Genetics is weird. Its random. Hence why there are so many mysteries behind some of it. Things that cannot be explained. I think that thats just that realm of science anyway, like you can come very close to proving factual evendence but theres no 100% way of actually knowing. To be honest, sometimes I think that if it were meant for us to know we would. Its never 100%... however, since we do try to find out we do come very, very close.
